A response to the Coronavirus!

13 March 2020

To Members & Frequent Guests of Gospel Way Covenant Church

All of us are concerned about the implications and potential impact of the Coronavirus. We have witnessed well-known and venerable institutions not play into the paranoia, but practice prudence, caution, and prevention.

As the Senior Pastor of Gospel Way Covenant Church, know that I’m exercising my faith to manage the fear – mine and others’. When this state of emergency is over, I intend to be found responsible, proactive, and faithful. Therefore, permit me to outline for you what we will do now and for the immediate future:

All non-essential activities (meetings of groups, workshops, etc.) are canceled or postponed until further notice. We do so to stay in step with directives from the Federal, State, and Local Government.

Because worship and prayer are essential, we will hold our Sunday Services 11:00 am.

I am very concerned about and protective of our older adults, those who have respiratory problems or weakened immune systems. Therefore, please weigh whether you will attend worship in light of the information the CDC has shared. Those who are most vulnerable to the virus should take extra precautions, including the following individuals:

a) older adults

b) those currently sick

c) those with weak immune systems.

If you do not feel comfortable in a public worship space, please feel free to view our 11:00 Sunday service via Facebook Live

Don’t forget that you can maintain your giving to the life of the ministry by using one of the following platforms:

o Text to Tithe Text GWCC to 45777

o The Giving tab on the church’s website

Instead of handshakes, hugs and kisses consider using the following when greeting one another:

o Verbal greeting o Head nod or smile

o Fist or elbow bumps

Stay calm, be hopeful, and prayerful. After all, we put our faith and trust in God!!!

Meanwhile, please pray for us as we map out our next moves. Also, pray for those infected and the families who are affected. Moreover, pray for the medical communities and officials who are working on the front lines to find a cure and keep us healthy.

Finally, we will keep the lines of communication open and keep you abreast of all changes. Remember, however, this situation remains fluid.

Isaiah 41:10 (NIV) So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you;

I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Lord, hear our prayer for peace, protection, and provision. In Christ’s name, we ask it all. Amen!

See you at Worship, or at the very least, you’ll see me through the miracle of technology.

Prayerfully submitted

Pastor Taylor
